National Numeracy Day

As part of National Numeracy Day, Year3 took part in a national live lesson hosted by Times Tables Rock Stars. This lesson gave valuable real-life scenarios to the children in a 'would you rather...' format. The lesson provided many opportunities for the children to explain the choices they made and show their understanding of money and how to manage it.

Celtic knots

In history, we have been looking at the groups of people who invaded and settled in this country after the Romans left. As part of this, Year 3 have drawn their own Celtic knots. Following step by step instructions, the class completed their own versions of the Celtic artwork, creating an endless knotwork drawing, representing the eternal cycle of life.

All the children did very well, creating a bright and colourful piece of art that showed the illusion of a continuous line well.

Class 3 - Summer 2026

Welcome back

I hope you have all had a good Easter. It's the Summer Term already and the children have made a great start to the term. Starting with history in the first half term, Year 3 are looking at those people who invaded our country after the Romans left. The children have completed both an outdoor timeline and a smaller version in their books to show how long ago the Anglo-Saxons came to this country. They have looked at where the Anglo-Saxons came from and why they wanted to settle here and they have started to look at how the Anglo-Saxons started to shape the country we live in now.

This promises to be an exciting term. Below are copies of the letter to parents, Curriculum Web and optional homework grid.

Thank you for your continued support and keep an eye on the blog for regular updates.
