We are having so much fun with our start to Year 2 life! The children have settled in brilliantly and have all been superstars remembering routines and rules as well as learning to adapt to some new rules with the removal of bubbles!

Our theme this term is ‘All About Me’, which is heavily Science and Art based, with some History and DT learning as well. We will be finding out about the human body – what it is made up of and how to keep our bodies and minds healthy. We will be practising and improving our drawing skills leading to creating our own self-portraits. In addition, we will be learning about toys in the past and present and also designing and making our own healthy fruit cocktails.

Aside from all that, we will also be doing lots of musical activities and physical games and skills too!

In English this half term, we are reading and exploring the text ‘Funnybones’ by Janet and Allan Ahlberg as a context for some of our writing activities. It is such a fun book to read and links in brilliantly with our theme! We have already been engaging in lots of activities and tasks around this book, including some drama where we acted out the story.
