We have had a great start to the term with everyone adjusting to the new routines and the new ways of learning. The children have been fantastic and have settled quickly  into life in Year One. 

Our theme this term is ‘On the Move’ and the children have been busy exploring how things move. The children have used different equipment to see how they could make things move by pushing or pulling . We all enjoyed the ‘Wheelie day’ when the children explored how to make their bikes, scooters and skateboards move. They have worked in groups to test vehicles on different surfaces and have found different objects to measure how far the vehicles travelled. 

As well as working hard in Science the children have also been busy in Art. They have been exploring mark making using crayons, chalks, felt pens and paint. We went outside to find various examples of different lines in the natural world and the children used them to make their own sculptures.
