Week Beg 27.4.20

Last week was another fantastic week weather wise. I hope you managed to enjoy it by getting outside in your gardens or for walks. I was in school on Monday giving out your new packs and it was so lovely to see some of you and to have a chat. On Tuesday I was delivering packs to families who couldn’t make it into school. On Wednesday I was in school in the afternoon with Mrs Brusndon looking after some children. We made dream catchers using wool and sticks and had fun in the nature area. There is a link to a video on how to make dream catchers below if you want to have a go. (They call it God’s eye but it’s basically the same thing). You don’t have to use glue you can just tie them together.

On Friday Mrs Edwards and I were in school doing a bit of gardening with some of the children. We have been clearing the raised beds outside the Y1 and 2 classrooms.

Reading

I have begun reading another book. It is called “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding. It is about a group of school boys who get stranded on a desert island and their struggles to survive.  Perhaps you can email me to tell me about some of the books you have been reading?

Google Drive

Onto this week. Here is the link to this week’s Google Drive. Please have a go at the Maths and English activities and try to complete some Theme or PSHE work too. Maths is from the White Rose Hub website and English is based on Brilliant bats in your CGP writing book. All instructions are in the folders. I am assuming as no one has emailed to say they are having difficulties that you have all been able to get on the Google Drive and it is working, which is great.

Times Tables Rockstars

Well done to the girls who won the Times Tables Rockstars battle over the Easter Holidays. I have set up a new battle in the hope the boys might do better this time.

Theme

On BBC iplayer you can still watch David Attenborough’s Africa series. Not only is it amazing to watch but it will help you with your learning.

Have another great week
