The sun is shining on a new week

Dear Parents and Children of Class 5,

I hope you have all had a lovely week. It seems to have gone by in a flash. Thank you so much to those of you that have sent me pictures of your lovely work. It’s great to see how busy you have been. I have put some of the pictures on the class blog on the school website. Have a look.

I was particularly impressed with Seb’s front cover for his theme book, Jamie, Poppy and Phoebe’s writing, Martha and Jacob’s dreamcatchers, Ben’s edible pond and Ava’s amazing obstacle course. I wonder what you will all do this week?

Google Drive

The link to this week’s work is below

Find the folder for the week beg 4.5.20. English involves some persuasive writing, Maths is multiplying and dividing with a bit of area and perimeter thrown in. White Rose Hub have changed the layout of their website slightly in that the worksheets are not available through the website. I have saved them on the google drive for you so don’t worry. The videos can still be found on the website.

VE DAY- Bank Holiday

I have put some optional activities about VE Day as it is the 75th anniversary this week. You might like to have a look at them. Here is a link to the Royal British Legion website if you want to read more about it.

Reading

Mrs Poad found a link to this lovely online book. It is called “The book of Hopes.” It is full of stories and poems written by lots of different children’s authors including Katherine Rundell, Axel Scheffler, Lauren Child, Anthony Horowitz and many more. Well worth a look.

Well done to Phoebe and George for a being top times tablers last week in the Girls V Boys tournament. The girls won again so this week we will be competing against Year 6. Let’s work together as a class to win!

Any questions/ problems please do not hesitate to email me.
